Brooks Brothers faces another setback in Puerto Rico with the closure of another store. The menswear company closed its store in Plaza Las Americas last week. With this closure and the shuttering of its store in Barceloneta, Brooks Brothers has just one store on the island, located in The Mall de San Juan.

After 12 years in Plaza Las Americas, Brooks Brothers has closed its shop located in the main walkway of the shopping center. According to Lorraine Vissepó, spokesperson for the mall’s owner, Empresas Fonalledas, the closure will make way for another tenant.

This shuttering joins the New York-based brand’s other recent closure in Barceloneta, leaving Brooks Brothers with just one store in Puerto Rico, located in The Mall de San Juan.

Other brands such as Armani Exchange and Sports Authority have also closed in the shopping center due to the high rent prices and Puerto Rico’s economic crisis, which has earned it the dubious title of the Greece of the United States.
