Dani Reiss, President & Chief Executive Officer, Canada Goose, said, “Rick’s extensive retail experience, both in Canada and internationally, will be instrumental in guiding our commercial operations to strategically capitalize on the many opportunities we see ahead.”

For eighteen years, Wood led VF Corporation's brands including The North Face, Vans, Timberland, Reef, JanSport and SmartWool. Wood's retail apparel experience at VF Corp included overseeing sales, product development, marketing and strategy development and execution. His last two leadership roles at VF Corp were President of Outdoor and Action Sports Coalition for EMEA and VP/GM of VF Outdoor Canada.

Most recently Wood was Executive Director at ArchPoint Consulting, a global branding agency. Wood is a native Canadian who said he admires Canada Goose for being "intrinsically invested in Canada."

Wood said he looks forward to "introducing our northern heritage to consumers on a global scale."

Canada Goose was founded in Toronto in 1957. The brand gained traction in LA with celebrities in 2015 when they attended Sundance Film Festival in Utah and needed a warm parka. The $1,000 Arctic-strength parkas are now synonymous with luxury outdoor wear and are increasingly popular in the US.
