L’Oréal Russia has opened its newly enlarged factory located in the Kaluga area, 53 mi south of Moscow. The facility began operating in 2010, and is dedicated to the production of haircare and hair-colouring products for L’Oréal Paris and Garnier, and originally extended over an area of 10,000 m2.

In 2015, right in the midst of Russia's economic crisis, L’Oréal decided to enlarge the factory, adding another 13,700 m2, a clear vote of confidence in the local market. The objective was to double the plant's output capacity, in response to the growing demand for the group's products, upgrading it with new, environmentally friendly technologies.

According to Russia Beyond, the expansion involved an investment of RUB2.5 billion (about €36.5 million).  In 2016 L'Oréal was market leader in Russia, generating a revenue of RUB43 billion.
