Alexander McQueen has opened a brand new space, spreading over three floors and encompassing the label’s womenswear and menswear collections, on Old Bond Street in London.

Introducing a new design concept for the house, conceived by creative director Sarah Burton, the flagship store pays homage to the brand’s fascination with nature through the use of oak and walnut wood on floors, ceilings and walls.

Glass cylinders bring light and reflection into the space, and each season, different fabrics created in the Alexander McQueen studio will become part of the architecture. This continuous evolution will see the space, like the product, change every season.

The ground and first floors are home to the label’s womenswear and menswear collections, while the second floor has been designed as an experiential space that will encourage the formation of a creative community.

There, archival pieces and current collections are showcased alongside photographs and artworks, exploring the Alexander McQueen creative process. A programme of exhibitions and talks, aimed specifically at inspiring students, will also be hosted on the second floor.

Lastly, sculptures in alabaster, bronze, granite and wood created by Chilean artist Marcela Correa appear throughout  the store to subliminally guide visitors as they discover the space.
