CEO of AllSaints joins British Retail Consortium board

Published
May 16, 2022

The British Retail Consortium (BRC) has beefed up the non-executive directors on its board with the appointment of two new names, including Peter Wood, the CEO of AllSaints.

All Saints

He's been at the retailer since 2010, originally joining as CFO before he became CEO in 2018, and is also in charge of US-based luxury menswear label John Varvatos, which AllSaints acquired during the pandemic.

The BRC also named Kate Seljeflot, Chief People Officer at Home improvement retailer Kingfisher, as a non-exec.

The new arrivals succeed HR specialist Melanie Steel who steps down this month and Very Group CFO Benjamin Fletcher who leaves in September.

Wood said of his new role: “The BRC provided strong leadership and support for our industry throughout the pandemic, and I am delighted to have the opportunity to become more involved. The ways customers can engage and shop with retailers continue to evolve and expand at pace, and as the largest private sector employer, our industry has a fantastic pool of talent to work with.”

The BRC announced Wood's appointment alongside that of Kate Seljeflot, Chief People officer of home improvement retail group Kingfisher.

The BRC performs key functions in British retail from providing regular data on how the sector is performing to campaigning to improve the business environment for retailers, and other initiatives.
