British cycling clothing and accessories brand Rapha launched its first office in Spain last week. The 33,900-sqaure-foot space is located in the Asturias building at the Science and Technology Park of Gijon in Asturias.

The brand chose the autonomous community of Asturias as the location of its Spanish office due to its links to cycling and the opportunity of building a large e-commerce team there.

Five graduates of the Polytechnic School of Engineering of Gijón have already joined Rapha and a recruitment process is due to start soon to fill new job positions.

Rapha, founded in 2004 and based in London, sells its products in 20 online markets, ships to more than 100 countries and operates in some of the largest cities in the world through a total of 27 stores or ‘clubhouses’, which act as meeting places for road cyclists and fans of the sport.

The business has grown by more than 25% every year since its creation, and started turning profits in 2009. It has more than 200,000 active customers and 450 employees.
