Following collaborations with Felder Felder, Wes Gordon and Todd Snyder, Austrian eyewear label Silhouette has once again tapped an emerging fashion name – this time Arthur Arbesserto – to create a special edition for a January 2017 launch.

Dubbed the 'Arthur Arbesser for Silhouette' collection, it is the Austrian designer's first go at creating an eyewear collection, for which he took inspiration from the look of playwright Arthur Miller, from the time when he was Marilyn Monroe's husband.

The Arthur Arbesser for Silhouette sunglasses collection plays with contrasting colours and shapes, blending round and square designs, and warm with cool colours.

Arthur Arbesser is one of Milan's most promising fashion designers. In 2013 he launched his eponymous line, which is produced by Le Fabbriche Riunite, the company owned by IKT which acquired the expertise of failed manufacturer Ittierre. For over a year, between 2015 and 2016, the young Viennese designer was also Creative Director for Italian label Iceberg, where he has now been replaced by Londoner James Long.

Silhouette International was founded in 1964 and is now distributed in over 100 countries worldwide. From 2016 the company is led by CEO Jan Rosenberg. Silhouette's revenue in 2015 was worth €150 million, and exports accounted for 95% of the total. Silhouette International is 100% owned by the Schmied family.
